Q. What file name should I use for my web sites home page
A. Name the file index.html or index.htm as these are the file names web browsers look for when accessing your sites home page.

Q. What is FTP access.
A. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It is the standard method for uploading pages to your web hosting space. When your web site is hosted with Ventura Publications we will advise you its FTP address and password so that you, or your web designer, may access your web hosting space.

Q. Where do you register domain names and do you have to pay a yearly fee even if the domain does not 'point' at a web site?
A. We register our domains at www.webdrive.co.nz or www.webfarm.co.nz. You do have to pay the yearly fee to retain ownership of a domain name, whether or not a web site exists.
