Transferring your web site - what happens next?

After you have completed the online "Application Form" we...

Take a copy of your entire web site directly from the internet and put it up at a temporary location. This allows us to test that the site has downloaded correctly and we add in any new features as selected by you via the on-line Application Form.

Then, we create a new permanent location for your site and then, to "point" your domain name at the "new" web site we do one of the following...

  • Ask your current domain name registration company to provide a UDAI number so that we can extract your domain name from their control. We will create a domain name ownership account with webdrive.biz with you listed as the sole owner of the domain.

OR

  • You - or us if you prefer - will log into your domain name registration account (for example at www.domainz.net.nz or www.webdrive.biz) and edit the "Name Server Record" for your domain to read...
    Primary, ns1.nameserver.net.nz and
    Secondary, ns2.nameserver.net.nz
  • At this point your Domain Name will "re-propagate" and "point" at your new site.
  • We debit your credit card for first months site hosting fee.
  • We send you a detailed email with log-in details for your statistics page, listing at www.bbnz.com etc. and a personal letter requesting that you arrange a Direct Credit to Ventura Publications for future monthly site hosting fees. This $30 per month also covers your Availability Page and Secure Booking Page facilities if these are installed on your site.
  • As soon as the site is "live" on our servers you may stop paying your previous web hosting company.

Future alterations to your site

We are happy to edit your tariffs several times per year at no charge.

Your existing web design company may have full FTP access to edit your site in future or we can do alterations at $55 + GST per hour.
